Welcome

I am so glad you chose to visit my website.
My work is influenced by my love of nature, and an ingrained empathy for humanity. I use earth tones and organic shapes that reflect my childhood treks into the northern Ontario wilderness and my adult years spent raising a family on 20 acres on the Niagara escarpment. Throughout my career I have worked in Europe and at an orphanage in Honduras which has further developed my skill and sense of social responsibility.
People—their challenges, struggles and amazing abilities to overcome adversity—are important themes in my work. I use traditional techniques of layering thin glazes while building shadow and light to create three-dimesionality in my oil paintings. When sculpting, I structure the play of light on the contours of the form and use different textures to create balance. These techniques help convey the complexities of the human experience.
